Not every protein boost needs to taste of vanilla. Formula 3 is a neutral-tasting blend of soy and whey protein that disappears into shakes, soups and sauces.
About
One level tablespoon adds 5 g of protein for 23 kcal. Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass and to the maintenance of muscle mass. Because it barely changes the flavour, you control how much you add to each meal, one tablespoon at a time.
It pairs well with a Formula 1 shake or a bowl of soup on a cold Tuesday. See every option in protein powders.
How to use
- Shake the tub. Give it a gentle shake before scooping.
- Measure. One level tablespoon (6 g) gives 5 g of protein.
- Stir in. Add to roughly 150 ml of a drink, soup, sauce or gravy.
Take one to four servings a day. Stir into warm dishes at the end rather than boiling hard. Store with the lid closed, cool and dry.

Frequently asked questions
Does it taste of anything?
Very little. It is designed to be neutral, so it suits savoury food as well as shakes.
Can I cook with it?
Herbalife suggests stirring it into soups, sauces and gravies. Add it once the pan is off the boil for the smoothest texture.
How is it different from Protein Drink Mix?
Formula 3 is almost pure protein with a neutral taste. Protein Drink Mix is flavoured and adds vitamins and minerals.
How much can I use in a day?
Herbalife directs one to four tablespoons daily, which is 5 g to 20 g of protein.
Is it suitable for a dairy-free diet?
No. About a quarter of the blend is whey protein, which comes from milk.
