Tropical tea in half a teaspoon. Mango Dragon Fruit makes a 6 kcal drink, hot or iced, with a measured hit of caffeine you can plan around.

About

This is an instant drink made from green tea and orange pekoe black tea extracts, plus hibiscus and cardamom, flavoured with mango and dragon fruit and sweetened with stevia.

Each serving has 87.5 mg of caffeine, a little less than a typical mug of instant coffee. That is the honest selling point: flavour, fluid and a known amount of caffeine.

You will see tea drinks sold with metabolism promises. No authorised health claim links this drink to metabolism, and we will not pretend otherwise.

How to use

  1. Measure. Half a teaspoon (1.7 g) into a glass or mug.

  3. Batch it. For a jug, stir 2.5 teaspoons into a litre of chilled water with fruit and ice.
  4. Cap it. One or two servings a day; keep total caffeine from all sources under 400 mg.

Frequently asked questions

How strong is the caffeine compared with coffee?

87.5 mg per serving. A mug of instant coffee is often quoted at around 100 mg, so it is in the same neighbourhood.

Is it suitable during pregnancy?

The advised limit during pregnancy is 200 mg of caffeine a day from all sources. Speak to your midwife or GP before adding it.

Does mango dragon fruit work iced?

Very well. Make it in a jug with cold water, sliced orange and plenty of ice.

Is there sugar in it?

No added sugar. The 0.1 g per serving is naturally occurring, and stevia provides the sweetness.

How long does one tub last?

Sixty servings, so one a day lasts two months and two a day lasts one.
